Well here I am again with a new rat 5 question. I thought that I noticed on some earlier forum pictures that the rat 5 has a loop for the rat firestarting tool. Is this still being used on the sheath or was I just imagining the whole thing. The loop would be very helpful and it may decide whether I order the rat firestarter. Thanks again for the info.:D

No, no loop but the sheath has a large pocket that can hold the RAT fire kit along with a few other items.

The first pic has the firekit stuck under the elastic band that is used to hold things tight inside the pouch.

The second is a pic looking down into the mouth of the pouch.

Hi,

Mind if I hijack this thread just a little?
I've got a question about the OD RC-5 sheaths.
Some pictures of the sheath, like the one on the rat cutlery site just present an awefull image of the RC-5 sheath, while others like pictures on this forum show a whole different OD sheath. Like the leg-strap, sometimes it's brown, sometimes it's lime green....
So, is is just about the pictures or are there more versions?

There is only one sheath. The elastic banding on the OD sheaths is a slightly different color than the main body of the sheath but it's not that bad, it just appears worse in pics.

It's pretty tough to get good pics of nylon gear due to the reflectivity of the different materials against each other.

The pocket of the sheath will hold an Izula, Fire Kit, and a old leatherman. The buckle strap keeps everything secure.
