Rat RC-6 & Spec Ops Sheath

Has anyone had the pleasure of using these two together and want to comment how they fit/function?

The Spec Ops sheath I am talking about is their "Combat Master," formerly the Survival Sheath. I was thinking about the Short version: Short fits blades up to 6” Long x 1.75” Wide x 0.25” Thick

One thing I am concerned about in going with the short version is that the RAT RC-6 cutting length is 5.75" while the overall length is 6.5." So this would mean the edge is completely covered, but some of the handle is not, I assume. Anyone try this?

Can anyone help me make a decision with the long versus short? My main use is hunting, and I want my RC-6 to hang from my belt while walking in the woods. (any other ways to accomplish this would be appreciated too!)

Thanks, Jim

I have the long version and the short but all mine are the Survival sheaths which have been discontinued overal same as combat master except the pouch, you'll need the large sheath.

 not true ,The Combat master & Survival sheath are 2 different models only dif was combat had a pistol mag type pocket or single knife pocket Vs. the survival had a expandable pouch that you could stuff full of PSK items.
The RC6 fits great in the large sheath and some may need alittle molding of the kydex liner but not a big issue & the blade is completely cover and the rc6 is held perfectly.
you 'll need the large sheath IMO in the pics see that large black screw at the bottom of sheath ,that holds kydex liner in,in the short version the tip of the RC6 will hit it and cause the blade no to seat correctly. The large version not an issue

Other options for getting it to hang off the belt is the new steel clip rat has out. I got one with the new rc5 sheath, and it works well on both sheaths. Now I just gotta order a second clip and I'm set

If you already have a short sheath, take out the screw at the bottom and remove the kydex liner and slide the RC6 into the liner all the way. If the blade does go into the area where the screw hole is (but doesn't stick out past the end of the kydex) you can leave the screw out entirely and hold the kydex liner into the nylon fabric sheath with a little PVC cement around the top of the kydex just where it goes into the nylon. Holds the kydex just fine - just don't use so much cement that you dissolve the outer shell! I've doen this on a couple of knives and it hasn't failed yet.

Yep. It fits the Short Navigator sheath perfectly. The Navigator is much like the Combat Master except for a hole in the bottom of the pouch to let a light shine through for subdued lighting. The screw in the bottom just misses the blade.
