Can anyone explain the differences between the first and second generations of the Rat Shaker. I've found plenty of pics of the first gen, but I can't seem to find any of the second gen. Thanks in advance.

Wow, NOBODY has any input? I was hoping to get a response in the Swamp Rat sub forum, I sure hate to post these type of questions in the Busse sub forum but it looks like I might have to do that.

Patience is the key my friend.

I was hoping someone had a picture of both without me having to write a description because I dont have both.

The fist generation RS has several holes much like the AS as illustrated: Top is an Assault Shaker second is a first gen Rat Shaker

the second generation Rat Shaker has a skeletonized handle, one long opening where the holes were.

Okay, great! I just scored what I was told was an Assault Shaker in a trade, but without the talon hole I figured it was a Rat Shaker. It also has the long opening and I hadn't seen any pics of one like it. So it looks like I have a 2nd gen. Good deal, it just means that I don't have to grind off the talon hole.

Thanks for the response!

Yes! That long opening is what denotes a RS2. I love the four finger grip that a Rat Shaker delivers, CongRatulations!! Please post pics when you get it. :)

In my experience, SR101 performs at least a little better than INFI as a slicer, chopping is another story, but slicing... SR101 is sooo nice.

New Info!

Looks like this one?

I got it yesterday. There won't be any pics anytime soon, my camera died. I might be hitting you for a pocket sheath, though.

That's it! My thoughts exactly on the SR101. Seems to take a better edge and hold it a little longer.

Sweet! Those RS2's are getting hard to find.

Just send me a note when you want to talk leather. :)
