I'm working with the outdoor recreation program at a large university now (trying to live the dream). We just ran a three day intro backpacking trip, and I of course had my #1 go-to knife with me - my RC4P. It really came in handy when the students wanted a fire but there was only wet wood available. I was able to quickly split some smaller rounds to get dry wood and get a comfortable campfire going. No one took photos of the baton work (I honestly think that they were shocked that I was even doing that with my knife in the first place), but someone got a decent shot of it on my belt.
I love this knife like no other that I've ever used; have for years. Thanks, RAT!

Sounds fun and I know that when I first saw someone do that with a knife, I was a bit shocked. I don't blame the students for having the same reaction.

Indeed; stock sheath (I've been quite happy with it, even though some of the leather sheaths available really are works of art in and of themselves).

Way to go! nice looking fire too. It is nice to be able to pass down hard earned skills, makes everyone feel better knowing they too can do this on their own if they have to when the time comes.

I like the idea of an Outdoor Recreation Program. I'm in school in AR, theres lots of good opportunities round here for that kind of stuff. What all do you guys do?

We do backpacking, hiking, canoeing, kayaking, climbing, skiing, surfing...really the sky is the limit.

Sounds like great fun! Keep up the great use of the RC and one day you will see a few of your members carrying!
