The fellas a Rat seem all about practicality. I realize that no one needs the new machettte, but I wonder how it will differ significantly from the other big blades that Rat has produced? Will it be a better slicer due to thinner stock....or is it really just fulfilling the desires of the masses for a machette? It seems that the new machette will be very similar to the BK9 in dimensions. Just currious to hear some opinions.

Thanks

I doubt it'll be a whole lot better or worse than any of the other big choppers out there. Only so much you can really do to change it. The handles look a bit slimmer than that of the Ontario version which was my biggest complaint about the RTAKII.

That said, expect a somewhat higher level of fit and finish, better sheathing options and of course, the best warranty in the business.

Another difference is Rowen vs Ontario, manufacturing these knives. Plus RC/Rowen can tweek out any problems on the older RC/Ontario models. Surely it will be a better version of the RTakII. I am looking forward to them!

Thanks fellas, pretty much what I figured. It may not out hack the FBM, but certainly is more affordable. Heck for the same price I could give them away as gifts!
