Eric,

About that Rat Trap...

What's the liner thickness and material? What's the cutout in the lock mate face (i.e. tang) style? Flat, radiused, or possibly Bob T & Spyderco's "failsafe" style?

Thanks much.

Liner thickness I can't help with, but the locking face is radiused. :D

I asked the same question in another thread and did not get a reply either.

I am starting to wonder if the liners are a little thin, since usually a company would let the customers know the specs. My guess- .050

det,

That's what it seems to look like to me, unless Eric isn't sure...

Are the RTr's liners Ti or SS? That might make a difference.

On a tangent, it's also kind of a shame that the liners on the B/S 882 went from 0.040 to 0.050 and not thicker, but then again, it's SS.

I'm not trying to hide anything, I do have another life also (not much of one, but I do have one ;) :p)

I wanted to talk to the shop manager to make sure I gave you very specific information on this topic so that I could accurately answer your questions.
However, since we both have been busy I haven't been able to get that info.

But I will stumble through the info as I know it. The liners are hardened stainless. The lock is radiused, which increases the the reliability of a liner lock tremendously. The liners are .040" thick

Just another note, regarding the Rat Trap.
We made this folder to be durable, a good cutter, and to be a reliable lightweight EDC. Our folder was not built to be a tank, or beat the "biggest" folder on the block. It is incredible well built and will handle a lot of abuse(as all of our products do) however, we wanted to make sure it could be worn without pulling your pants down ;) While the lock is reliable and strong, it is not near as strong as the lock on our Howling Rat ;)
