Cool mod to that RTrap!!

When I read the thread title, I expected a tale of emergency body-repair that you performed with the Trap in yer pocket..... y'know, like delivering a baby or removing an embedded foreign object from someone's anatomy.

Well, I would have done liner and scale, but back there on the "hump" there is only G10... We'll see how it goes... If it doesn't last, I've got some inserts that I can install into the G10 that will provide a little bit stronger threads. :D

So, Eric... How's that Warranty clause coming? Have I violated it yet???

If a warranty can be voided by making something work better then you are better off without one. I'm sure that the fact that there is no metal under the G-10 on the butt is the reason why they don't offer the tip-up version from the shop. If I can scrape up some more cash I might get a field grade Rat Trap and mod it the same. No mods on #75 though. I've got a Buck Solitare that is tip-down carry and I didn't carry it long, eventhough it is a useful tool. Maybe some Lok-tite in the screw holes would make it secure in the G-10 but I don't know, exactly, what adheres to G-10.

A little LockTite might help, we'll see... so far, the clip is holding up just fine... Of course, being one to not leave well enough alone...

Improved thumb access to the thumb hole and darkend hardware... :D

The liner does extend from the original clip securing holes down to the lanyard hole and screw/bushing. The area he chose to locate his clip does not have any metal under it. Had the clip been located "in front of" the screw/bushing, he could have had metal to secure to. That also would have caused a higher ride.

Hope that makes sense. Better if you have one to see what I'm babbling about...LOL

Still not sure about warranty question.

The ride height deal is exactly why I chose to put it where I did. If the G10 doesn't hold up, I can always go with the self-clinching inserts :D
