Man I felt like crap yesterday...I set traps out on my property to catch Wood Rats and I caught a Kangaroo Rat instead. Now thats not the worst thing in the world but darn those little suckers are fun to watch skipping across the yard at sunset.

The Wood Rats (Pack Rats) on the other hand remind me of something out of a sci fi movie. Constantly raiding my truck and car for electrical equipment.

traps unfortuantely are not that selective.....I know how you feel A few chipmunks made there way to the great beyond, by way of my squirrell traps, However a decent pellet gun is really fun to use and you get to choose your targets (peanut butter and a little bread goes along way towards getting the rats where you want them)

I'll be looking into that soon. Seems where I am a 9mm makes too much noise, sure is fun though.

yeah... the neighbors might get a little freaked...Crossman makes a nifty .22 cal single shot bolt action pistol for about 50 bucks it gets around 460 fps (with a 22 cal pellet) that's more than enought for rats....I've taken several squirrels/pidgeons and the odd bunny with mine. It's small and a hell of a lot of fun and isn't a bad addidtion to a small kit as it is capapble of bagging alot of small game at a modest distance
