RAT Tree Rats - your thoughts?

Hey, that's some good stuff! I also enjoy hunting squirrels. I've always wondered how to process them for food. Any favorite recipes or methods for cooking? Any diseases or parasites endemic to squirrel meat I should be aware of?

I've poped my fair share of the little devils but mostly for "pest control" reasons (it's what I do for a living).

I did "hunt" them for most of my youth and ate alot of them.

They are about the most fun you can have busting caps.

I usually spend all of deer season being annoyed by them and then in January when I have time to hunt for them they are nowhere to be seen! I really should spend a day earlier in the year hunting for them this season. Now the big question is which RAT knife works best for skinning/cleaning a tree rat?

Izula or RC-3 for sure! But if you're skinning them the right way, any knife will do. :)

That is one of the best presentations I have ever seen.
Thanks so much for sharing, I saved that to my hard drive.
:)

Excellent post - thanks so much. I saved that one to my harddrive!

Never hunted before to tell you the truth, I've been wanting to get out a do a little squirrel hunting to see what it's like.

Go ahead. Rub it in. ALL squirrel hunting is illegal in Washington. Why? I do not know. But I do not like it.

What about squirrel "finding"?

"I swear officer, I've been looking for that bullet all day! I'm glad that squirrel found it before it hit something important.":D

This is really cool. Like others above, I've never had the experience of hunting before, but when I get the chance to move to a place where it's more acceptable, will definitely be using this guide to get me some squirrel.:D Nice RAT knives too, I've got the same combo.
