I have recently been steering from Hogs to Rats. I have sold or traded every Busse I own, but all is not lost.. I have 2 Busse grails on the way to me right now. One is a Mud Razor ( I want her stripped nekkid and satined...fell in love with someones pics of a pair all done up like that ) and the other a Tali-Whacker. ( Whacker has a nice Rowe leather sheath with stingray inlay as a nice lil bonus ). I think I might make my Busses with some rare exceptions my safe queens and my Rats my Users.

Rat-Wise I have in the 3-5 inch category a Nice HRLM with pants on its way to me. In the 6-8 I have NADA. In the 9+ I have a Rat Daddy On its way. Folder-wise I have the Rat Trap here now, its currently the only Busse / Kin Knife left on the premesis until my other babies arrive. Since that is pretty rare as well Ill prolly queen her and the last knife I have on the way to me is a ZT0650. That'll be my edc and well as the HRLM.

Ganzaa-wise Im thinkin about tryin to get a Axe and maybe my first Dog, an Elmax.

Ok Right now I need a 6-8 inch blade. Im not digging the Tramp.. Ive heard rave reviews about it and the handle, but right now my other 2 Rats have Micarta so ima gonna stick to that theme. Might even have em all re-handled to the same color later on down the road. Of the ones below I see that the Rat Weiler and the Chopweilier fit my requirements. Does anyone have a side by side so I can see these together? Performance comparisons? Anything else that differentiates one from the other.....Any help would be appreciated. I did some digging before Im asking this ..... here is an excerpt from the thread below:

Son of a

Shoulda looked harder....

http://www.bladeforums.com/forums/showthread.php/658643-Ratweiler-vs-Chopweiler

Basically,
Ratweiler has straight spine, finger grove on handle, thumb ramp. Chopweiler has drop point, no thumb ramp, no finger grove. Both are 1/4" SR101, diferentially harden. The BIG diference is the originally issue of Ratweiler had the very nice patterned (curved) micarta handles. Best looking handles ever made. They were available on Rat Mastif, Ratweiler, Dog Skinner, (maybe desertJack, SAR, and Rat Hunter). I have managed to collect the RatMastif and DogSkinner with the sacred handles.

Anything else I should know or did that cover it?

Dammit just stumbles onto info for a new player to enter the field.... a Taz Rat. I hate decisions

This just became a Rat weilier vs Taz Rat thread.

I know it's not 6", but if you like Rats (and I do), you have to at least try an RMD- one of my all-time favorites (a few other people seem to like them, too). Also, you can get the LE model if you want uncoated. Sorry to add to your predicament!

I just picked me up a mini mojo To go with my RMD. I have a Rodent solution on the way as well.

Ratweiler or Chopweiler are still grails I hope to acquire one day.

Heh, Its all good. I welcome suggestions although I think I answered my own questions by searching a little more and from this quote from the thread I found like 3 minutes after posting my thread....

Looks like Im off to make a new WTB thread. Bleh. Thisll shoot my Ganzaa money right in the ass. Oh well If it means completing my little set, so be it.

ERRR wonder what the thickness is on the taz rat. If its a little thinner.... oh my off to search.

You can also check the picture thread here on SR subforum and on SRKW website chat.

Im all set. Made a WTB for a Rat Weiler with Gen 1 handles to match my Rat Daddy.

Now we wait.

When I want a knife that is rare and doesnt come up often I go through old threads and see who has bought one. Then I sit there and email, pm or visitor messege ALL of the ones I found and ask if the kinfe in question is still in their possesion and if so if they wanna sell it. Ive gotten some interesting responses. In my doing so Ive actually reminded some people of knives they forgot they even had. Poof...sale. So far I have gotten a Mud Razor, Rat Daddy, Rat Trap and a Tali-Whacker this way. Just gotta be persistent.

Where did you get a Rat Daddy?

Here are a few pics of a Chopweiler and a Ratweiler I used to own.
You have some nice steel arriving soon, congrats and enjoy

Yeah.

Tryin that same method now in my hunt for a Generation 1 Ratweiler. Havent really done alot yet with the distraction of the Ganzaa .. But I will up the ante soon. As of right now ive only asked 15 people or so. I have no doubts Ill get my hands on one, it all is dependent on 2 things. One if I put in the legwork, or TWo...maybe my wtb thread will get me a bite before my research does.
