Okay, so the Rat7 has gotten rave reviews and the Rat3 seems to be off to a good start but the Tak 1 is something that I don't hear much about. Am I missing something here? I am asking for a reason. I have been reading a lot about the Rat7/1095 recently and am very seriously considering a purchase. I am also interested in a smaller knife with similar attributes. The Rat3 seems to fit the bill but the coating and that huge gold logo are a turn-off, not to mention that I would really prefer 1095 even in this smaller knife (though this may be a mistake?). I know, I know... I should go strictly with function and forget looks on a knife that I will be using and using hard and this is why I still may purchase a Rat3 even though I am less than impressed with its looks. The Tak 1 is attractive to me because it's available in 1095 and without the ugliness of that coating and logo on the Rat3 but then the sheath system on the Rat3 is WAY better than that of the Tak 1 and I'm not at all interested in purchasing an aftermarket sheath for any of these knives so I must consider sheath quality in my purchase. I imagine a little (or more like a lot) of sandpaper would get the coating off of the Rat3 (am I wrong?) but that logo appears to be etched in so I suppose I'd be stuck with that. Thoughts? Comments? Suggestions?
