Rate your Most and Least Favorite Damascus Patterns

I'm very ignorant to the different Chris Reeve Damascus patterns. I've seen Rain of Fire and Zebra as both being rare and sought after. I've also heard some concerns about some of the newer patterns being less than great.

So other than Rain of Fire or Zebra, because those almost never come up for sale, what are your favorite damascus and least favorite patterns?

EDIT: I meant "River of Fire", not "Rain of Fire" - kept the original error in the post since several people replied already and don't want to make them look silly, when it is *I* who am the silly one! Thanks for the correction folks!!

It seems the patterns that are generally available now are the raindrop, ladder and basketweave. There is variation in each pattern, so it is worth viewing the exact knife you are thinking about purchasing so that you are happy with the exact pattern you are getting.
I am partial to the ladder, but basketweave is also very nice. I don't particularly care for the current raindrop.
 
I love my 2017 Raindrop Damascus blade. I think it's awesome. No regrets on this choice for me.

I don't have a least favorite :rolleyes:
 
River of Fire, perhaps ?
It is by far my favorite pattern I've seen on a CR knife.
 
River of fire is my favourite. Like others; I don't have a least favourite.

A plain small 21 in River of Fire damask would be a grail to me...
 
My Favorites: Spirograph, Basketweave, Ladder, and some raindrop (hit and miss with current versions). I wish CRK would use more of DT's versions such as Bubblewrap, Sharktooth, etc...
 
Mosaic, Zebra, Reptilian, ROF, Sharkstooth, Spiro, Ladder, Basketweave and a distant last... Raindrop.

Rain of Fire is cool, lol.. love old school Raindrop. I eventually would like to get a Basketweave at some point. The old Spirograph is awesome. Ladder is "eh"

C'mon CRK!! Experiment with some new types!

They did recently at Blade..I know you seen it! The Chad Nichols damascus!

Yes! I did see it, i can see myself getting some of that! Was that the only type? More examples coming?

I really wish I knew if there was more coming for sure..although I vaguely remember Tim saying that they were working on some stuff.. My understanding, this was a small piece they had around.
 
That would be just fantastic, if they would release a new damascus pattern! Thanks for posting!

As mentioned by the thread opener, the rare and fancy things like River of Fire or Zebra Mosaic are awesome, but hard to find. Among the current damascus pattern I prefer Basket Weave and Ladder over current Raindrop. Old Raindrop is a different story and highly appreciated.

Basket Weave:

21, UG Night Sky, Basket Weave, 02

Ladder:

Regular, Annual, Mammoth, Ladder, 02

(old) Raindrop:

21, Mammoth Ivory, Raindrop, 09

Spirograph:

21, Mammoth Bark Ivory, Spirograph, 05

Bronze non-stainless Spirograph:

Regular, UG Spirograph, 03

Zebra pattern Mosaic:

Classic, 21st Anniversary, Zebra, 10
 
Zebra is my all time favorite. River of Fire and Spirograph are both very cool as well. I don't particularly care for any of the Damascus CRK currently uses.

Am I the only one who'd love a Damasteel Sebenza?
 
New Damascus design offerings from CRK??? Oh, baby... Super-sweet!!!

And while they're at it, ditch the current raindrop. It's embarrassing rubbish compared to the perfection that it used to be.
