Rather "adult" ad

Blues Blues or any other mod (I just know him from another forum), I'm having a rather adult-content ad pop up for me today. I don't really care, although I don't know why they picked that for me, as this is far more "adventurous" than I am. I just wanted you guys to be aware, as I'm certain many people would feel offended.

I have a screenshot, but would prefer not to attach it in a thread, and am having difficulty figuring out a PM.

Let me know what, if anything you want me to do.

Joe, I don't see the ads but I'll ping the owner, Spark Spark , so he can address the matter. Sorry you had to be exposed to something objectionable.

(You have to have a "paid" membership to have PMs on this site, which is why you don't see the option.)

Gotcha. I don't really care, but I'm quite confident someone's sensibilities will be triggered.

It's also possible that the BF server has just decided that I am into things that are decidedly not common, and probably illegal most places.

ETA: thanks.

It's my understanding that the ad service looks at the cookies on your computer and then picks from its list of ads to find the closest match. So you may be correct.

You might try clearing the cookies on your browser. That will mean you will need to log in again to any sites that you normally would "stay logged in". Clearing your cookies will reset the ad selector software and you should get something "less exciting".

Clear your cookies.
Close your browser.
Then open your browser and log in again.

I'm in manufacturing/new product development.....

-It's not a pleasant, nor particular easy day having to explain to HR why we are googling 3" black nipples.

*I hate cookies/browsers/search engines

Had that problem with an outfit from whom we purchased turbine oil (MIL-PRF-23699), a synthetic oil, not petroleum based. I needed a cert for the stuff we were buying from them. They were a distributor of industrial lubricants and had their web site divided into "Petroleum Lubricants" and "Exotic Lubricants." I clicked "exotic lubriants". The "web sense" security software did not like that one at all.
