Hello Rats, for my first thread I thought I should give a quick overview of my first Swamp Rat knife. I had been thinking I need a good fixed blade (like a junkie needs a new crack pipe
) and was looking between a Becker, Scrapyard, and Swamp Rat when this popped up on the Exchange for a good price and I snagged it. It came in the mail this afternoon and I had some time to spare before work so I took it outside. The edge on it could barely cut paper but it cut off some 1 inch branches and took the leaves/stems off with no effort. After work I took it to the Sharpmaker and it is cutting paper easily now but its not as sharp as I would like it so Ill work on it tomorrow. I didnt get any action shots but Ill try to get some tomorrow and over the weekend. After the short while I used it today, I can see why it is a fan-favorite among Rats and non-Rats alike. It has a nice feel and balance to it and the ergos are fantastic.
Heres some pictures before I cleaned it up some and sharpened it.

The seller I bought it from said this sheath was homemade and it came with the RMDx when he bought it. The retention is great and it has a solid snap and no rattling.
