Ratmandu 3V - what gives ?

I usually don’t post this type of stuff but wanted to see if anyone is in the same boat.

6/1/23 - ordered Ratmandu 3V. Was told 4-8 weeks.
7/30/23 - emailed first then called for an update since we were past 8 weeks. Was told mid august
8/16/23 - called for an update was told end of august.

I haven’t heard anything as far as an update from anyone. Is this par for the Busse course ?

Jerry can you hook us all up with info on these ?

I understand you are eager to get your hands on this, but perfection takes time, They are a small company and little things can cause large delays. When it is in your hands you will be thrilled
 
Busse is a small-business, top-tier, custom knife manufacturer.

While the company does have a website with some static designs that you can order, for the most part, the first line of my response is the rule, rather than the exception.

Never expect speed, under those circumstances. To do so is kind of indicative of mental deficiencies.

Kind of the difference between Glock and Les Baer. They do the same thing but the prices, craftsmanship, and immediate availability, are nowhere near one another.
 
As for any timeline, or ballpark estimates, I don't have an excuse why they would even give those, and move the goalposts, when not met.
 
General rule of thumb is double quoted time for anything custom. And have you tried getting a contractor lately 16 weeks sounds about right.

I generally set alarms in my calendar for every 2-3 months before checking on something. The last custom I ordered in February with a ballpark of August, that turned into the end of the year. I'll check back in February 🤣 no it was not a Busse but the same applies. Good vendors do their best.

Every single knife listing on their websites has terms clearly posted.

I don’t see where any promises were made, or broken. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
 
Does anyone here actually expect to order one and receive it in 4 to 8 weeks? (Serious question) I just laugh when I hear those kinds of promises and wish them good luck.
