Ratmandu colors?

I just got my second Ratmandu in (on top). Man o' man are these great knives, perfect size for a large range of tasks.

I'm pretty sure my older one (at least 2-3 yr old) is from the first run. Is there a way to tell if my latest one also from the first run?

I also have a questions about the colors.
I believe both are coated Sage Green, right?
I thought they may have a different color scales, but after getting them side by side, I think they both may be Brown Micarta, just that the top one is not as seasoned yet. Does this sound right?

I'm thinking they are twins separated at birth....

Thanks

The easiest way to tell the original RMD's from the rest is the clip portion of the spine of the blade. On the originals this part will be rounded off. The current ones are squared. The originals are from around 7 years ago, though I can't remember exactly.

The colors are desert sage and tan canvas micarta. There is some variation on the handle colors from batch to batch.

Here's a spine shot of my original run RMD.

I'll try to get a look and a pic of the spines here in a bit.

The bottom one has a nicely polished edge, thanks. Good eye, it is hard to tell since I have it coated with a citrus/beeswax I got sometime back. I got it there with a 1X30 beltsander, then paperwheels. The new one is reporteded to have a Worksharp edge, and it's thinned down a bit from factory also. I'll work with it sometime to get it polished also.

Mine is a black with g10 red and black . As far as heavy field knives go it is a dandy :o . When I put it work ,and dull it up . I will try one of my stones, the steel seems pretty hard . I use a old case butcher steel, till they get dull

Ok I am wrong, here are spine pics of both of them. Both very much squared off. I didn't realize the first run was that long ago. I do know the first one I have had about 2 years, and it is as least a year older than that. The more recent acquisition, the seller mentioned he had taken it camping several times, I guessed at least two seasons, but it is at least 1 yr old as at a minimum. Looking at the blade stamps, I realize they are both the more recent logo. I have not kept track, has the Ratmandu been in constant production for some time?
Does desert sage and tan canvas micarta still stand since they are more recent?
