I've had the pleasure of owning a RMD for a few weeks now and it's just perfect. If orders are still being taken, I am going to grab another one - this is the only knife I've ever considered owning multiples of.

Except... infi would be even nicer :D:D:D

I think a RatManDu made of INFI would be the ultimate - I know people have mentioned it before, and I'm jumping on the boat.......

Soooooo..... pretty please with a cherry on top?

Whats wrong with SR101...it gets sharper and some would argue holds an edge longer.

+1, SR-101 is fantastic. I'd love to see some Busse designs in SR-101 in fact. Perhaps an SFNO or even a FBM ;)

Why?

Not crap talking SR-101 (I use A LOT of 52100 in my line of work), but why would you gut a McLaren F1 and throw a Mustang engine in it?

No disrespect, but I do believe that isn't an accurate analogy. Why not an NMFBM in SR-101? Perhaps it wouldn't have the same shock absorbency or stain resistance as INFI but wouldn't it be interesting to test it out? SR-101 seems to offer some of the same properties as INFI, but with lower overhead. Imagine the streets flooded with $300 NMFBM's! I would certainly pick one or three up at that price!

Check out the Scrap Yard Scrapper 5 LE. It’s close to a Ratmandu, with an INFI blade and Resperine C grips.

I think a better analogy would be gutting a McLaren F1 and throwing in a Vette engine.

SR-101 is a great steel, but the NMFBM is very simply an abusive blade. The properties of INFI suit it perfectly.

Why not the other way round? A FBM or FSH with SR-101 steel. Just as awesome steel as INFI with a considerably lower price tag.

I would go quite that far out on the limb. ;)

Both my NMFBM and FFBM still shaved hair and sliced through newspaper clean after a lot of chopping and battoning. :D
