RatManDu Ordered Monday...

In my hand on Wednesday night! :D

Does life get any better than that? Thankyou!

Ready for a funny story?

Now I can put my old camper into well deserved retirement. I carried that M3 on every camping trip I've taken for the last 20 years. Its taken everything I've thrown at it (or thrown IT at, for that matter, just ask the stump out in the back yard...) It's probably opened 200+ bottles of beer and cut into 100 cans of hash. I've hammered in countless tent stakes in with it. Hell, once I even used it AS a tent stake. Never so much as chipped it. I tried other knives, but I always, always came back to my old M3.

Then one day last month, I stumbled across an e-bay listing for an M3 with original M6 sheath. Like mine.

Long story short, now I have something that I feel is worthy of taking it's place. :D

HOLY COW that got to you quick.

Thanks for posting the pics and for the story. I hope you enjoy using the RatManDu as much as you have M3.

Please keep us updated on it's use

:D:D

congrats on a great knife! hang the old one on the wall, it deserves better than to be put away in a shoe box

Guess you'll be handing down your RMD to your great grandkids.... Enjoy. You picked a great knife.

Thanks everyone!

It won't be in a shoe box. Not sure about the wall thing either, but it'll be someplace were I can always see it...and grab it. :D

Great story about your M3. It's nice that a knife can give great service for so long.

I still have my Boy Scount knive. It is the Kodiak Hunter fron Schrade-Walden. I've had it about 52 years. I bent the tip on it throwing it into the ground when I was a kid. Have , more-or-less reestablished the tip and the rest of the knife is still going strong.

That's amazing that you still have your Scout knife. Mine is long lost. It was a SAK. I used to throw it a lot too. I would open all the pointy bits to 'increase' my chances of getting the knife to stick. Hardly ever did tho. heh. good times.

I've had the RatManDu for a week now, and it's really starting to grow on me. No task around the house too big for it. And it throws like a dream. I just gotta get it some pants before I slice something important off. :D
