Ratmandu sheath reccomendations?

Hi everyone,

First post here! Been a visitor far too many times in the past - time to get an account!

I've ordered a Ratmandu CG and will be needing a sheath for the thing soon. This is my first knife anywhere near this price bracket and of course the first that will be needing a sheath ordered separately - so all advice welcomed! The two I've been looking at at the moment, are the MashedCat and the Spec Ops Combat Master for up to 6 inch blades.

Has anyone had experiences with these two? Or any other suggestions? I'm not looking to spend much more than I need to though...

The mashedcat is obviously a better fit, but the spec ops is available in the UK (where I am).

Interested to hear opinions on all the usual stuff: rattles, materials, size, blade protection etc..

Oh and for the mashedcats, which of the added options (if any) would you go for? Still new to this and don't exactly know the differences and which I'd want. Id like options for carry, and would probably wear it a number of ways.

Thanks in advance!

Mashed Cat makes a nice sheath and a good friend.
Spec ops makes a great sheath as well.

Thanks for the replies guys - will look into Al Welke! With a spec ops would you expect some rattle? Or any risk of blade/edge wear from movement?

I made these if you like them :)

If interested please e-mail me :)

My choices in order are "Buy Brown" the fit and finish are excellent.. Mashed Cat follows close second.... Al Welke "Azwelke" is a close tie in second and Spec Ops is pretty generic to fit a range of different models all good choices but if tight tolerance is your goal the 3 custom makers will give you just that with no need to make adjustments.

Thanks Mike and David! Buy Brown it is - and I'll try to upload some photos when I have knife and sheath together. Spec Ops seemed like a practical option at first 'cause I can get them from UK suppliers, but I don't really fancy making adjustments myself - at least not right now. But more importantly the fit, smaller size and great reviews make it an easy decision.
