Can anyone tell me what the word "Ratmandu" means? I know about the knife - I have one - and ever since I got it I have been wondering what the word means, where it came from etc.

I know it rhymes with Kathmandu, capitol of Nepal, but that isn't much help.

Thanks

Steve

Your right on Steve, it is a play on words. Rhymes with it and sounds pretty nifty as well.

Interesting fellow on that site!

I'd really like to take credit for that, but somebody else came up with it on JD. I can't remember who it was, but I think it's a classic. :D

I think you hit the nail on the head right out of the box. "Ratmandu" is a play on "Kathmandu", and a clever one at that.

Thanks for the enlightening responses!!

Steve, you have your answer, if your looking for some deeper meaning your not going to find it.

If you look at the bulk of the Swamp Rat line theres a bunch of them that are a play on words, and just for fun. Take the Camp Tramp, Ratwieler, Rat Mastiff. Hairy Carry, Rat Daddy etc etc.

Its all for fun, take it for what it is. :D
