Guys, I know this has been asked before but, I cant seem to find the post. My 0300 is about 3 to 3-1/2 months old now, it has not been used hard (yet) but it is developing the torsion bar rattle. I will take it apart tonight and add som grease to the liner to quiet it down, (I think this is th remedy) but, Im not sure what kind of grease to use. It looks like a clear, light weight grease. Is this normal does it need to be done often??? Any other advise is greatly appreciated. thanks fellas

Any grease other than Crisco will work! I use white grease or molly, because I've got a bunch of it.

Just remember to have the blade open before you open up the handle. And just a little dab o grease will do the trick!

Mine started doing that yesterday and I knew exactly what it was. :D

I use the Super Lube grease product for the torsion bars and
the oil product for the pivots. Very good stuff and food safe.

All you need is a small bit. Stop by Autozone, Pep Boys, Advance Auto, NAPA, any car parts place will have some grease, and most likely the Super Lube brand name.

Yeah, in small foil packets at the counter. Even their so-called "bulb grease" would work.

Hey, 2manyblades, where do live, NYC? You got no grease, I'm guessin' you got no car, either! :p ;)

This is the grease version I use.
The most common numbers at auto parts type stores are part#'s 82340 (1cc) & 21010 (1/2oz)
1/2oz will last a very long time.
"Food Grade, rated H-1 by the USDA and NSF for incidental food contact.
It is an excellent Dielectric and operates over a temperature range from -40° to 450° F."

This is the oil from them. Comes in a little oiler.
Part# 51010

So you might give them a shout and find out where you could get some locally.

I was in an ACE hardware this afternoon, and they had Super Lube grease and the oilers in various sizes. They are a national franchise, so there's bound to be one near you. See if you have one locally.

They also had Flitz polish!

Nope no car........I, like any true Ohio-ian, have a 4 wheel drive 3/4 ton truck. The reason I asked is because I want the "food grade" mentioned above. So no more smart ellic comments. I did find a tube of the Super Lube at our "Do-it-Best" hardware store. It was the last tube. Our True Value went out of buisness about a year ago.....thanks a lot LOWES. I thought about using dielectric grease too, I assume that would work as well. Thanks to all who responded.

Is it just me; I've noticed the AOs with liners (G-10/FRN) develope the rattle while the frame locks either stay solid or rattle so little it's hardly noticeable?
