Rattling coming from knife

I have had a Kershaw Leek 1660BB for a little over a year, and now when the blade is open, it makes a rattling noise. It sounds like it is from the speedsafe mechanism, where the torsion bar for the assisted opening is. One screw looks a little father out than the others, so maybe its loose, but I cant tighten it because the screw is stripped. I guess it was stripped all along, because I havent tried to unscrew it at all. There is also a stripped screw on the belt clip. Is this something I should just send back to Kershaw with the warranty??

You can send it to kershaw to get the screw fixed but if you can get it apart now putting a little grease in the handle cut out for the torsion bar will stop the rattling.

Could the rattling sound be the blade keeper near the end of the handle ?

If you think the screw was stripped from the get-go just call Kershaws customer service , they are awesome!

I have not a problem yet with my Kershaws that they did not bend over backwards to fix.

To stop the rattling you need a little grease around the torsion bar is all. Do a search for taking a Leek apart. I'll dig up some links for you if someone else doesn't beat me to it. You also always have the option of sending it back to Kershaw.

EDIT: Here ya go...check out this thread. If you feel comfortable doing this yourself, everything you need to know is in that thread. Good luck.....feel free to email me if you need any help...I've taken these apart many times.

EDIT2: I missed the part about the screws being stripped. If you think you can get the screws out yourself, Kershaw will send you a set of replacement screws.
