RATWEILER OR TGLB???? That is the Question

I'll go out and take pics only if you remove that awful jerkit from your post.

I lean on the side of Patrick.....2 different knives. 2 different areas of pro's....they both cut. But the Rat is more of an "allarounder".

That being said.....ratwieler.:D

What Jason said, .....ratwieler:thumbup:

Whoo Hoo! No jerkit nonsense! Thank you! :D

Heres a side by side,

There are things, such as comfortable chopping, that the rat can do that the tglb cannot.
Ratweiler. Get two, i doubt they will come back.

The Ratweiler is one of the most unique and perfect knives to ever come out of Wauseon (IMHO). I don't mean to undermine the current release and I hope Jerry doesn't put me on the black list for speaking my mind, but the Ratweiler is legendary! The ergos need a little getting used to, but when you find the sweet spot she will be your favorite in that size range. I will NEVER get rid of mine! She chops, she whittles, she batons, and she begs for more.

^^^^^^^^^I'm with Russ... great pics fellas, thanks.

My take is a bit different. I suppose it would depend on the location where it would most be used. SR101 around salt water or in a pacific northwest environment might not be the best choice due to its propensity to rust. Infi is very stain resistant even in salt water.

Both are great knives... you will not be disappointed with either.

My vote for the Ratweiler. My second son got mine and he won't give it back.:grumpy:

I'd actually rather have the Scrap Yard 711 over the Ratweiler or TGLB, especially when prices are considered. Basically a remake of the hugely popular Camp Tramp, it should be able to handle easily anything you could throw at it. The 711 is pure win for $140 retail, you can find them for even less on the exchange.

If I could only have one knife however, I would purchase either the SYKCO 911 OR Basic 10 LE. I feel that the 9-10.5" range makes for the best all-arounders and later you could supplement it with a smaller knife like the SYKCO 311 or 511.

BOTH!!!

Then you'll have a chance to try for yourself and decide which one you like more :D

Just look at the pic post by Leatherman. There is no way not to pick the TGLB after looking at the sweet comp finish!

I knew the dimensions on both but for some reason in my mind I always thought the ratweiler was smaller.

And maybe someone will get a laugh out of this....when I first saw the "jerk it" symbol,I thought it was someone scratching their chin.Like they were pondering something.
