Ratweiler Question

Hi everyone, I've been lurking here for a while till I was able to pick up my first Rat, the Ratweiler! I love the feel of this knife!! I do have one question about mine in particular.

All the pictures of Ratweilers I see have brass colored fasteners on the micarta slabs, mine are silver colored. Were some made with silver fasteners? I bought this off eBay so I don't have any history on it. Thanks for any info you can lend!

For some reason, I want a Mojo really badly now... ahh damn addictive steel.

Those look standard to me. I thought you had one with a silver colored fastener made of some other type of metal?

They are silver, take a look at the first picture (better light). Click the thumbnail to make it larger, then click it one more time for the original size. Its pretty clear if you see it at original size. If you look at the Scrapper 6 under the Ratweiler you'll see what the brass fasteners look like in comparison.

*edit* I took another pic and tried to white balance on a sheet of paper for a little more true color.

 
When you zoom on the last pic you can see the difference between the Res C, which is obiously brass, and the tubes on the RW.

Is anything else on the knife different?

I'm still reading up on how to put a good convex edge on a knife, then I'm going to practice on some beaters I have here before I take it to these.

I was just wondering if anyone had any history on the silver tubes in the handle of my Ratweiler. Did they just run out of brass ones one day?

I really wouldn't say that it's a variant.

I have had on occasion, 3 of the same model (Busse), with bright brass (?), dull brass and the silver. Had dull and bright with that also.

It was like whoever was attaching the grips had several boxes of fasteners, but just had to choose 3 of the same for 1 grip.

Never paid much attention to it.

wetdog, do you have any pics with the different fasteners? I havent seen pics of other knives other than one other RW that had the silver fasteners. I'd love to see the ones you had, and how they looked!
