Just recently got my first Swamp Rat, a custom shop Ratweiler. Does anyone know where I can get a sheath to fit it (without having to send it off), either off the shelf or custom? Leather or kydex are both under consideration.

Also, how could I determine if my custom shop knife is the same or similar in dimensions to a standard RW?

I've got an original Ratwieler, congRats! Its one of my favorite Rats, I still favor it over the new Chopper.

Most of the 'wieler variants I've seen have a standard blade profile so you might be in luck there, but the handle is where things get sticky. Most of the variant handles were either shaped different or were much thicker than standard.

Do you have, or can take, a picture and send it to me? I can host it and post it here for you. :)

Yeah, post a pic for all of us to see. I have a feeling that since it's a custom shop piece you'll want to go with leather. I think there's a guy around here that can makes that sort of stuff:p

Yee-Haaaaaw! That's a sweet one. Definitely leather. You don't want to stick a beauty like that in some plastic;) Anyway, I would talk to Leatherman about doing a nice dangler rig like this. I think black leather would look sweet. Get your self an OD or Black Swamp Warden and have Dwayne put a piggy back on it like this Skeleton key. It'll look super sharp (no pun intended).

You can also get the Combat Master by Spec Ops. The 8" sheath fits my Ratweiler very well. You can pick them up online for about $32.00 Plus shipping.

i bought a spec ops sheath for my chopweiler and it works just fine.

post pictures dude!~

Can anyone tell, at least visually, if the blade profile is the same? (Search function is not working for me and I'm not that familiar with this model)

Thanks for all the help!

Yes that is the standard blade profile. :) But the scales are a little off spec to the standard micarta, but not by a whole lot. I bet a sheath made for the standard scales would fit yours very nicely.

Be aware, the Chopwieler is a little bit narower than the Ratwieler, at least mine is, so it might not fit the spec ops sheath. Just a caution till someone corrects this.
