Has anybody done torture tests on the Ratweiler similar to the ones on Knifetests.com I 'm not too familiar with dual tempering.

THANX

The best reviews on any knife, IMHO, are those you'll find from other users in the field - the forum is a good place to find 'em. Both here and on the Swamp Rat home forum, you'll find lots of user feedback on the Ratweiler. I think it is an almost perfect camp knife and it remains popular among the volunteer SAR groups.

I am cautious with non-forum reviews - those of magazines and/or website experts. One is paid by the advertisers; the other has a motive, even if not monetary.

There was a gentleman around here once who did a number of reviews. Some called him brilliant. Some called him things I can't repeat on this forum.

For good or bad, here is a link.

The on-line destruction test is what I call 'entertainment' and I don't think that guy has any other agenda but making a cool you-tube video. That being said I agree with 'Paddles_away_from_banjos' that practical uses of SRKW products are what we like to read and write about here on this forum.

I can't disagree with that one. Definitely entertaining! Who else wears a hockey mask while camping and chopping?! :D

I left the "agenda" thing hanging... I guess I'm trying to tell the OP to take everything with a grain of salt - even those framed as empirical science. A skeptical eye is a good way to approach things like reviews produced in mass.
