Just got it today and I am a very happy camper! :D This knife is what I have been waiting for from the Swamp! The heft and longer handles, and the whole balance of the knife are great. It feels much livelier in the hand than the res-c handled version. Pics coming tomorrow as I get the chance to take it ouside for some poses. ;)

This will be a first as well for a new thing I am dreaming up. I want to start making a few ready made samples of my sheaths and offered at a lower price range. These will be offered in either black or saddle tan, and have only the basics. Most likely with a mid ride belt loop and a snap strap over the guard. At the moment I am asking for opinions, would something like this work? Would Y'all want something with the flair of a custom sheath, but without some of the personalization of a full blown custom sheath? I could have a few "in stock" pieces ready to deliver, and I know that some of you would really appreciate that! :p My wait time for cusom work is getting awful  and I am sorry for that. With this new idea I could work the sheaths in my "spare" time, and get a few ready to go. If this experiment works here I'll expand it to the "other" side of the fence ;) :p :D This also gives some opportunity for me to farm out some of the construction to some of my local work horses...ah---- friends, yea thats it! :D What do yall think???

I like that idea Leatherman. I would get a sheath like that when I get a Battle Rat Tactical. I am looking forward to your pics of the Ratweiler!

Great idea Dwayne! Melikes. Most times I just want a plain-jane sheath and don't need all the extra doodads, so this works for me!

Pictures, we need stinkin' pictures.

Cheers,
BJB :D

No pics of the concept sheath yet, but I do have one of the new Ratwieler and its companion the Safari Skinner :D The second pic is RW with my new BR, the new larger handles really fill out this knife eh? One thing I did notice is that the scales on my Ratwieler are much smoother than those on the SS, is it the bead blasting or is there another process I can use to get the scales that smooth?

Great looking pics, thanks for posting them.
Is it okay if we add them to "The Swamp" picture archive?

:D:D

Damn, all these fine Ratweilers appearing around the world...

That is cool with me! I would be happy to send a few more your, or Gundy's, direction soon. :D I'll do some more outdoor pics of my other Rats this week ;) If I get the time to get out, I'm starting to feel like a hermit lately.

For those of you with outstanding orders, ie the LE Satin Battle Rat sheaths, I do apologize for being so quiet. I had a huge project dumped in my lap a little while ago, its almost finished and I should be able to start catching up on back orders next week! :D Again, I am sorry for becoming so hard to get a hold of. :footinmou
