Hello!
Im a new member here from Norway.
Im making knives, both for using and more decorative ones. All my knives are fully functional. I never make two knives that look the same.
I dont forge any blades, but I make the handles and sheaths.
Hope you like what im posting, and feedback is appriciated.

The first knife here has a handle made of crosscut mammothivory. The blue part is metapol, a synthetical residue with strips of aluminium inside.
They dont make this type anymore. The spacers are pewter. Blade is patternwelded from Frandsen, Denmark.

Next we have another crosscut mammothivory-handle. The bolster is mammothmolar.
The blade is from Tommy Jimmefors, Sweden.

Then we have a usingknife. The brown wood is ebony. The front part is red metapol. Spacers of pewter and vulcanized fiber.
The blade is AEBL, stainless and made by Morten Håkonsen in Norway.

Another knife of the same materials. Here I have a green metapol piece instead of red.

The last two pictures are of the same knife
The green handle is stabilized box elder. And it has a bolster of a nice piece of Blacklip Mother of pearl. And a pewter spacer.
Blade from Mattias Styrefors in Sweden. It has been surfacetreated so its black/purple/blueish.

Thank you.
The blades are mostly bought at different markets here in Norway.
MS on the last one stands for Mattias Styrefors. He's from Sweden and I bought it from him at the swedish knifemaker competition in 2012.
MH stands for Morten Håkonsen. A lokal smith that I use alot for my usingknives.
The first blade is from Ernst Frandsen, Denmark.
But we have a few dealers at markets that import blades from the rest of scandinavia.

Thanks for sharing those here. I love to see different knives from different parts of the world.

It would be nice if you would add a little text when you post pictures to tell us a little about the knife - especially the handle materials since your main area of work seems to be in the handles (and sheathes, which we do not see).. Personally, I am very curious about the materials you used on these handles (especially the 3rd and 4th from the top).

Thanks, again!

Hello, The Virginian..
Thanks for the feedback. I should indeed post some more information.
Ill just update the initial post with materials. I will post pictures later on with some sheaths etc.
I have a bunch of more knives too that I can show at a later time.
And I must say, these knives are not typical norwegian knives. We have a strong tradition here for knives that are made for
our folkoutfits. I just dont like to make those, and try to go new ways with my knifemaking.

Sincerely
Raven

Thank you all for the comments, Xineoaif, JackHammer and Burl Source.
Greatly appriciated.

More knives and sheaths will follow.

Hi.
Id like to show a few more knives.
First out has a handle of crosscut mammothivory and metapol, with pewter spacers that has been filed down.
Blade is from Poul Strande, Denmark.
On the back I have three swarovski' with silverframes. Same color as the metapol. All the metapoltypes I have shown so far have stopped being produced.

I would also like to show a detailpicture of the first knife I posted here.

Today I thought I should post a few knives that are more made for using.
They all have blades from Morten Håkonsen, stainless AEBL.
The first one has a handle made of masurbirch and metapol, with filed pewter and vulcanized fiber spacers.

The second has a handle of beautiful amboine burl. The white piece is camelbone, and pewter linings.

And lastly I have a strange knife with a handle of mammothivory and metapol and filed pewter spacer. This metapol is a new type with naturefiber inside.

Hope you enjoy.
And feedback is as usual appriciated.

Hello.
Just found a picture on my computer of a knife I made a long time ago.
The photo isn't that good, but I don't have the knife anymore, so this is what I can offer. The knife was sent to a competition last fall and came in second place for knives in the open class. It was also one of the two first Ive ever sent in. The knife was made as a gift.
Handle is made of metapol and coral.
The blade is made by Poul Strande, Denmark.

Hope you enjoy.

Hi, I thought I could share two more knives.
The first one is an old one that I sold recently. Its been laying around without a sheath for a long time..
The buyer asked me to make the sheath like this.
Second knife is also with some comments from the other buyer. He wanted a brown and black sheath, and a stained birchhandle that had a deeper color.
Hoping for some feedback. These were two simple usingknives.

Spalted birch, camelbone and laminated blade:

I enjoy seeing Norwegian style knives, and these are certainly no exception. Very well executed and that Mammoth is spectacular. Thanks for sharing.
