I bought mine about a year ago and when it arrived in the mail it wasn't that sharp. When I called the manufact.@ Emerson he told me it could be sharpened for ~$15.Since you guys seem very knowledgable, would this be the route I take? Also I've had problems with opening it; I've loosened the screw to make it open better but find out after awhile the screw ends up coming out. I've tried tightening the screw back and just find it difficult for a quick opening.I read the insert that said you have to break it in for it to loosen but maybe i'm just doing something wrong.Right now,its in its box and any help I may recieve would be greatly appreciated, so the raven may come out and play.

You can put some loc tite on the pivot screw. Don't use anything but either the blue or purple loc tite. Take the screw out, cover the end of the screw, and put it back in until the tension is just right for you, then let it sit overnight. should cure that problem. As for the sharpening, I would think they'd take care of it for you at no charge, since you told them it was not too sharp out of the box.
You could invest in a good sharpening system, and maintain the edge yourself. I'd go for that option.
Good luck.

i WOULD ONLY ADD THAT IF YOU PUT IT IN THE FEMALE END OF THE PIVOT PIN, IT IS A CLEANER OPERATION. THE FIRST TIME I TRIED IT, I PUT IT ON THE MALE PART OF THE PIN, AND SOME OF THE LOC-TITE ENDED UP GETTING ON THE BUSHINGS, MAKING A REALLY ROUGH OPENING.

BIG JOHN,

I assure you that the knife was sharp when it left our factory. Often, knives get dulled when "played with" at a dealer. This being as it is, please send the knife back to us and we will re-apply the edge and ship it back to you at our expense. Just include a print out of this thread as an authorization of sorts. Be sure to include a return address.

Let us know what you think of the knife when it returns

Take care,
Derek
