Just came across the Raven with the Krylon scales.....had never seen before. Is it Emerson quality or does it fall into their Hard Wear line? It looked like a nice knife and thought I would ask.

The Raven is not part of the Hard Wear line. It existed long before the Hard Wear series was introduced. The Raven is considered as a typical higher quality Emerson knife with a different handle design. I just picked up a Raven tanto in satin finish and it is very nice. It is lighter than the normal G-10 series.
 
Yup, there is nothing wrong with the ravens, there were g-10 ravens brought out not long ago too.
 
Thanks a bunch for the info. I am somewhat new to Emerson and had never run across that particular model. How does it compare to the Mach 1? I also came across this model and was curious if anybody had any history with/on it? Again, thank you all in advance for your help.

Thanks a bunch Rick......really helps to compare side by side. Blades look VERY similar......which handle ergo/material do you prefer? The Mach 1 or the Raven?

No problem man. The blade on the Mach 1 is a bit wider than the raven, my pic shows the Mach 1 at an angle so it looks thinner than it is. Overall I prefer the Mach 1 ergos over the raven, and I just like G10 over most materials but the Raven's Kydron handles are still nice and grippy.
