One might say that the Raven is the lost and forgotten child of the EKI's production models, but this knife can find a home with me.

I have an under-developled left hand due to a birth defect. Over the years, I've train to build as powerful grip as I can. Now my grip is fairly strong, but dexterity still lacks.

For a knife to work for my lefy hand, it has to 'fit' just so. Almost every knife I've handled (hundreds) just did'nt fit for the left paw; until I found the Raven.

The 'compressible' feel of the handle provides good feedback and extra purchase for my less sensitive grip. This same grip is excellent for wet or slick conditions. When I'm pulling fiber optic, the cable lube gets all over everything. With the Raven, I maintain a good grip, even with soapy hands.

The rounded melted non-corners make it a very confortable IWB knife in 100 plus temps. This roundness also aides in fine cutting chores when working with ethernet cable insulation. Twisting circle cuts are smooth.

I know the knife is being discontinued. If the Blackbird doesn't have the Kydron handle, I'll just have to get another Raven.

Here's one for the Bird..

I'm gonna jump in on that vote too, of course, I don't like it nearly as much as my commander, but it is one of my favorites, I only wish it had a slightly larger handle. btw, why don't more knives have kydron handles?

I personally like the raven a bunch. I carry mine almost as much as my CQC-7a. It is a good knife . Oh well I guess i wil buy another to throw in my collection.
