Just scored a new Ray Cover thanks to many good friends on the forum. Mike Robuck for alerting me, and to James Culpepper for letting go of this Gem.

I understand that at Blade 2007, Ray said this was pick of the litter on a group of customs he did for a customer that supplied the stag. Was Ray right or not?

That's some of the nicest stag I've seen on a Cover knife. I think you, Durwood and Rob Thomason are corning the market on Covers. Well, Durwood has had it cornered for a while but you two are catching up.

I am no longer in the race. Traded all my Covers for these beauties from a guy in Yangjiang, China. He works at the Yangdong Deasun Knife & Sword Hardware Factory. Most of my Covers were several years old and all these are brand new, still in the packages. I kind of hated to take advantage of him but he said OK so what could I do. Just like a fish on a line, I hooked him and reeled him in. Sucker.
Send me that old broke down stag, two-blade Cover, James, I may be able to sweet talk him out of one of these newer knives for ya.

In your dreams, In your dreams, that old stag is coming home for a final resting spot. It is tired of traveling and being cast off.:D:D

Yes, a very very nice one in Stag:thumbup: I am sure this is actually 440V however, as I saw it before it went to blade. If there is no marking, it is 440V. Ray never had a stamp made for 440V, but his 440 C knives should be marked except some very early ones, and this ain't early:D....but it is definately one of Ray's better knives in stag.

Thanks for the information, now if I could only edit my thread title. Of course that is another thread in service and support. Maybe you can help out there if you jump in on the replies.:D

By the way Ray's personal carry has 440V blades, and I should mention Ray hasn't used 440C in years.

I wish you could get Ray to review all the knives I have on Knife Collection and tell me which is which or give me the info. Thanks for your help. I want to have them properly identified for sure. I am dying and want it for my son to have histories and specs.

PS:All of us are dying from the minute we are born.:D But some are closer than others, I am 62 after all.:p
