Just bought my first Ray Cover Sr. slip joint. Saw my first a few years ago which was a semi skinner model with gold lip pearl handle and just loved the flow of the design.

Didn't get that model, but did buy his modified #4 model (what seller said) with a blue/gray burled maple handle.

Nice clean lines and a very comfortable knife to hold

Also read that Ray wasn't taking anymore orders. Hope it means he's busy

Ray made one shadow in ivory micarta several years ago. It was his old standard # 4 pattern. The recent interest in Shadows caused Ray to start making more. Ray has made several shadows in the past year and there are a lot more in the works.

DON,

I'm the one frequently stating that Ray doesn't take orders, but that isn't an entirely accurate statement. He states that he is not orders from "new" customers. Even that has been proven not to be 100% accurate. A lot depends on what Ray has in the works and the mood Ray is in when he is contacted about an order. I've heard that old fashioned written orders get a good response.

Rays custom knives were some of the first i ever saw on the web.
his stuff is outstanding
hard to believe the makers can do this sort of work.

Nice collection of models. As a former cabinetmaker. My preference is for exotic woods. Especially burls due to the variety of patterns in the woods

I have admired his work for several years and hope to own at least one before long.

rbmcmjr - That is a gorgeous knife!!

Mr. Cover's Son does engraving but I don't think he does the Engraving on his Father's knives.

Great thread.

This one was engraved by Ray Jr and is signed.
