I'm considering 1 of Ray's knives & where possible I lke to deal directly with maker.

Does anyone know if Ray has an email address, I did a search found ph number but gets a bit costly calling from Oz.

Thanks for any help you can give.

Cheers

Mitch

I have his small catalog and no e-mail listed. I think you are gonna have to do this one the old fashioned way -- call or write. Great guy to deal with though.

Yeah, Ray does not use email.

I've emailed his son before but I doubt he'd want to be an intermediary, especially if you're talking details.

Thanks Guys,

I suspected that might be the case. I've been checking out dealer sites, spoke to Bob at custom knife gallery of Colarado & he is expecting some in the next couple of months. As I'm not in any hurry I'll keep an eye on sites.
Besides it'll give me time to break in montell double bladed trapper that I had Ty make custom, it's supposed to arrive this week.

Cheers

I have a couple of ray's San Francisco Daggers. Very nice work. I talked to him on the phone, getting info about my knives. He is a nice guy to talk to.

Hey mitch,

Glad to hear you pulled the trigger on one of Ty's knives. Please let us know how you like it.....

I'd love to own a Ray Cover. Simple and elegant. Have you seen Ray jr's engraving?....great work. And Jeff makes great knives, I think.
Talented family, to say the least.

I'm going to try and post a couple pictures of a Ty Montell beauty that now belongs to Mitch.
Sorry if they are small....but the knife looks awesome.

Bill

Thanks Bill!! Glad you like it

Here's the specs, knife is sole authorship by Ty.

Blade length 2 3/4 clip, sheepsfoot a touch shorter.
steel 440
liners bronze titanium, bolsters polished titanium.
Handle californian buckeye. It's very nice never had it before good change from bone or stag.

Fit & finish is excellent, no play in the blades whatsoever. Extremely sharp & edge retention is good, I've cut cardboard & leather & it was still shaving sharp.

I am really impressed with this knife & would recommend Ty. His prices are very competitive & he's a top bloke to deal with.
