The Ennis-entrek knives website seems to have disappeared. Has Ray Ennis given up making knives? I know a couple of years ago he was having health issues. I hope that’s not the reason the website is gone.

I heard that too. That would be really unfortunate. I hope he is ok.
I have one knife from him and i don’t think i could ever give it up!

Yeah, officially retired a few years ago, but was still making a few knives here and there. I guess he's officially done now maybe. He had some nice designs.

I‘m fortunate enough to have a couple of his knives. They are essentially handmade pieces at production prices. I’m sorry to hear there won’t be any more.

I actually was looking at some Entrek knives lately and really liking them! Best wishes to the man going forward.

Because every thread needs pictures 😁 .

My Entrek Cobra.

Back around 2004 I was debating whether or not to buy the Cobra. I wanted a robust little fixed-blade for work and everyday-carry. But I was having a little difficulty pulling the trigger.

Then I was at a shopping mall, and they had a little knife shop, so just to kill some time I decided to go in and look around. And to my surprise they had an Entrek Cobra in the display case. I never would have expected to see an Entrek there. It was the only Entrek knife they had. I saw it as a "sign" and bought it on the spot. Paid $135 for it, which was pretty decent for a mall shop.

It served me well, but I no longer have a need for it, it's role has been replaced by other slightly larger knives that I have come to prefer. I plan to send it on it's way to a new home one of these days.

Send it to me. LoL :-)

Update on Ray. I’ve been friends with him for about 30 plus years. I spent many hours in his shop while he was living in North Dakota. He is as genuine a person you will ever find what you met is what Ray is. Ray is still around and doing ok. He did quit making knives and misses it dearly. I fortunately have 8 from the Entrek line 5 production 3 custom.
