a few days ago i received this beautiful integral damascus hunter. it is one of the knives ray submitted for his ms rating this year. an excellent sheath made by mike stott came with this knife.

Very nice. It looks so symetrical that I think you could balance it on the tip of your finger at the bolster.

Nice blade profile, the grip looks narrow in the bolster region though. Do you find it ergonomic and secure in hand?

blues: you are right, it's a pleasure to buy a knife from ray. he IS a gentleman!

cliff: the knife is bigger than it seems to be on the picture. the handle is almost 5'' long and allows your hand to use the knife in different positions. one finger in the groove (? english ?) for easy cutting, or two in the groove and the thumb on the rounded spine for a lot of pressure on the edge. i tried both (cutting meat and hard wood), and the knife feels very well in the hand.

the knife is forged from a massive bar. the bolster area is bigger than those of my other integrals (goo, sfreddo, foster, fogg). it is about 0.6'' thick and about 0.7'' to 0.8'' high.
