During several discussions since the Blade Show I have had an opportunity to mention a damascus bladed neck knife I purchased from a gentleman named Ray Kirk of Tahlequah, OK.

Those who saw it at the show were favorably impressed, both maker and collector alike.

Ray (who is a member here) has just gotten the beginnings of his website up and I thought it might be of interest to some of you who are interested in nice hand crafted knives. I know Ray's probably too modest to post anything himself, so I took the liberty.

Anyway, why not take a look at:

I would just like to put in a vote for Ray Kirk. He is a great knifemaker. And a very nice guy. On one occasion I would have found myself stranded several hundred miles from home. Ray Kirk helped me out in when I needed it. Ray is a true friend to me, and to any and all that love knives.

Blues, thank you for taking the time to mention Ray.

Thanks, Lynn.

I appreciate your endorsement of Ray.

Though I don't know him well, Ray and I have kept up an e-mail friendship since we met at the Show, and he has been kind enough to offer me an opportunity to test out a new knife he is working on. I consider that an honor.

I look forward to reporting on that experience in the not too distant future.

Thanks Blues. (been thinking about putting your name on my checking account so you can just order knives for me too.)

Then again, I sure as heck would love to own some of YOUR current and future pieces!

All best,

Ray has been at it a while and his work shows it. He took his ABS test blade test at my shop on 2 oct, Needless to say he impressed the heck out of a whole bunch of people (about 50 makers were on hand). You will not go wrong on a raker knife

I would like to thank those that have replied on this thread. I appreciate the good words and feel good knowing that I have your friendship. For those that do not know these men, hopefully, someday you may. Ray Kirk RAKER Knives.

Okay, something to whet your appetites a little.

Ray is sending me a "Lil Blue" (ATS-34)and "Lil Blue II" (52100)for testing/carrying down here in the sub-tropics of South FL.

I'll report on the knives after I've carried and familiarized myself with them.

If they are anything like the one Raker knife I already own, I'm sure they're going to be great little knives. Both versions can be seen on Ray's website in the neck knife area to get an idea of their dimensions/composition.
