I'm the happy recipient of one of Ray Kirk's Scagel style folders. Really nice feel, fit and finish. This is going to be a pleasure to carry.

The knife is built with his forged damascus of 52100 and 12N20 steel. Titanium liners with Sanbar stag scales. The backspring is made of 4352 medium carbon alloy with high nickel content.

Congratulations. Ray makes a great knife that cuts and cuts well. That damascus mix that he uses performs.

I've been lucky to own 2 of these by Ray and must say yours is the nicest one I've seen to date. Put it to good use.

I appreciate the use of black screws, a small touch that hides the screws within the stag.

Congrats to you for wining Ray's Scagel Type Folder  His 52100 base damascus blade edge always stay sharp even after few times used  And yours is fixed with a selected beautiful sambar stag scales

Is the blade made from two bars of different patterns damascus?

mohd.

mohd,
I'm not sure if it's one bar folded, or two different patterns folded together. Ray calls this damascus pattern "bar code damascus".

That's a beauty, Jay. Gus and I really enjoy our stag versions in forged 52100!

Ray's one of the good ones!

The bar code pattern, at least that is what I called it. It is made by having 3 or 4 billets of 75-120 layers that are forge welded on the sides and then a ladder pattern ground into it and flattened. That will give 3 or 4 different patterns next to each other. If the billets are a very good match, the it doesn't show a lot of change.
Thanks for all the good words and sorry I haven't been around as much as I used to. Things change but a good knife is always a good knife. :)
