Certainly worth the wait. There are at least two great makers hailing from Visalia, CA. One of them of course, is Mr. Michael Vagnino, and the other is Mr. Ray Laconico. I had the distinct pleasure of meeting both of them for the first time at the Pasadena Knife Show earlier this year... and also was pleased to reconnect with them briefly again at the Vegas Show in September.
This is Ray's "Workman" model in D2, but bolstered in a one-off format with a "never to be done again" thumb hole. The blade is 3 3/8" and overall length is 7 3/4"... a perfect size for my personal every day use and close to the same size as most of the other knives in my EDC rotation. The finish on the Ti bolsters contrast well with the LSCF scales, and I love the firm-ness of the lockup of this particular liner lock knife. Fell in love with the Workman's shape and design in a standard liner lock format (Ranger Green G10 with a Thumb SLOT) at the Pasadena show earlier this year when I first met Ray, and I knew at the time that I would have to have one someday.
Look at that thumb hole relief!!
Honestly, I love everything about this knife. His outstanding fit and finish.... The blade shape, the finish and grind lines, his logo POSITION... out of sight but still remaining, placed carefully on the blade spine (ingrained enough to function as almost thumb grooves), the firm lockup, his thumb relief for the thumb hole deployment... the bronze finished screws and subtly darker clip... and finally the bolster/LSCF scale combo. Straight from the priority box into my right hand side pocket, complimented with my Lefty TP/Mickey Mouse MOA Mayo in my rear left back pocket.
Thank you Ray!!!!!

Thanks for looking.
