I haven't seen too many fixed blades in this forum lately, so I'll put one up. All of you may not be familiar with Ray Laconico's knives, but let me tell you...they are top notch. This is his Short Western Bowie with acid etched blade and ironwood handle. It is one of the best feeling fixed blade knives I have ever held. Occasionally he puts his knives for sale in the makers for sale area and if you have a chance to get one, jump on it. I actually had him make a 2nd short bowie to give to a friend for Xmas because I liked the first so much.

Thanks for posting,

Waaahhhhhh!

C'mon, Vince, get over it.

Beautiful! Normally I like a long and wide blade, but with this bowie I like the shorter blade alot.

Elliott,get over what ? :thumbdn:

The man said,he has not seen many fixed blades posted,I simply said,I did post one & added a link,to show it here once again.

Do you read these posts in here before you yourself post ? Perhaps there is something you yourself needs to get over :(

You're right of course, Vince. I must've been seeing and imagining things and reading between the lines. My mistake.

And I reiterate what Vince said, Ray's knives come super, super, super hair poppin sharp. His grinds are really nice.

Campbell,We've talked before about Ray's work. The other knife there posted in the link is made by a maker from Ohio doing super clean work as well.
He may not have as many blades as Ray under his belt, but certainly is one to watch if you like knives of this style,IMO.
BF's is a great place for these makers in our U.S. of A! I try to support them, any way I can. It's all good.
I feel the quality members that frequent this trad. forum would've liked to see the wares of such makers
Thanks for posting your Ray knife & whoever is receiving one as a gift from you is gonna be really tickled
-Vince

i like it

there was an article on him in the tactical knives magazine

gotta get one of Ray Laconico's knives ,,,,looks great

i believe the article was about the trailmaster

He is typically known for his "survival" knives. But he is also trying his hand at folders. I haven't seen a whole lot of people doing brand new patterns these days, but he has made a couple of nessmuk folders that I think look great (see below). I'd love to play with one and see how it feels. The thing I like about the survival makers is that they produce some tough damn knives...and I really like the fact some of them are starting to make slipjoints :)
