In episode 2 of Ray Mears new series Northern Wilderness (Canada) he uses a tomahawk. He comments on the tomahawk that he likes it very much. I made a few snapshots (don't know why the color is wrong) but has anyone any idea what brand it is? It's a very simple design. It looks a bit like the British Trade Axe Tomahawk from Gransfors Bruks (see pic below) but the shoulder of the axe handle looks a bit wider in the pics.

yea I saw it too, his new series turns around a lot of custom tools. If I'm not mistaken, they are hand forged by the "Voyageurs Outfit" The same outfit, runs another show in french called "Destination Nord-Ouest" where they rein-act, Mackenzie's and other voyageurs passing through Canada.

It appears to have a hammer pole also, unlike the tomahawk pictured above?

Fort Turner makes a similar trapper tomahawk with hardened hammer pole.

I have a 'hawk from FT that I designed. He puts out a good user product for the price.

I was just looking over Ragweed Forge and considering the backside has a hammer, I would think it was a British Belt Axe.
