I just received a knife by a maker in Everette,Wash. by the name of Ray Rogers.
Contacted him about 3 weeks ago about a user folder.
Told him that I wanted one of his Companion folders in BG42.We emailed back and fourth and he informed me that he just finished a blade [for a Companion]in Cobalt 6BH.[His first in this particular steel]I emailed him and asked if it was spoken for and to my surprise it wasn't.Yipee skipee!!!!!!!.
A week later it arrived and it now my daily carry.
My camera is on the fritz but you can check out his other goodies at www.rayrogers.com
BTW his prices are waaaaaaaay reasonable and the quality is way up there.Great guy too!!!
I failed to mention that the knife he made for me is the 1436 on his site.

How do you like the blade to handle ratio? It seems like the blade is a little short for the handle length. What about that "Pocket Hook"? Does yours have on and how is it?

I'd like more info about his work. I think it would be cool to get a knife from a maker who lives less than an hour from me.

Thanks,
Mitch

Nifrand,

So what does he mean by "integral" folder. Is he referring to the lock?

There some nice looking knives there.

UW: I like the handle to blade ratio just fine.It is a user and will get a workout.I love his thumb stud.Works great for the fastest deployment of any knife I own.And the blade steel is awsome.Fit and finish are great.
Sing: I think it is because the liners and bolsters are one piece. The lock seems to be a liner lock.I'll ask him .
