Ray Rogers fixed blade

I sent him a request to make a 8.5" tanto with a 3.5"-4" blade. I want a guard-blade catcher profile kinda like a EKI Commander. Chisel grind, "American" tanto, bead blasted with thin blk G10 slabs. Only thing is I don't know what kind of steel or thickness I want it in. It will be for IWB carry. Gimme some suggestions.

1/8" -D2? That would be my choice.

Ray's heat treat of BG-42 is very good. It is a steel that he seems to work with a lot.
