I asked about knife sharpeners a few weeks ago and was given alot of recommendations. Even though it appeared as though the kit of choice was the Spyderco, I purchased the Razor Edge System (RES). It arrived today and I tried it on an old relatively dull pocket knife. Since it was my first time using stones and guides, I didn't expect much. Before the sharpening, I held up a piece of paper to see if it would cut along the edge. I pushed and shoved, but, no cut. After doing what I though was the right way to use the the RES, I tried the paper cut test again. Expecting it to be as hard as when I started, I began to push pretty hard. It went through the paper so fast it almost cut my arm on the exit. It was sharper than I remember it had ever been.
Kudos to Razor Edge
