Has anyone tried the Razor Edge Sharpening service yet?

I know most of us can sharpen pretty well, but I was temped to to try the service to get my knives "surgical sharp".

I was wondering if they scuff up the blades finish? I really hate scuffed up blades.

Thanks in advance.

I have used the Razor Edge System for a number of years. It is not so much a system as a method. The equipment supplied is good and the method is really only a reiteration what many of us have been doing for years. If you don't want scuffed up blades you can amend the system to suit your needs. My day job is sharpening knives and I normally use a 2x36" belt system but when that special knife comes in I reach for the Razor Edge System. I also use it on my hand mades. Probably the best idea is to buy the book first and read up on it before committing yourself to the system.

Seems like you have been waiting along time for a answer to your post.
How about you send one in and let the rest of us know what kind of job they did for you?

Just a thought.

Well...sent a folder in, came back with fairly heavy grind lines and the rear of the bevel was not aligned (and showed a couple of different angles)...I'm almost positive that they don't use hand stones for the sharpening service, probably the sharpening machine shown on the website.
