Razor Edge Systems, long known for their sharpening kits, is now selling their own pocket knife for 19.95. The only information provided about the knife is that it is delivered razor sharp and has a lifetime guarantee.

Wanting to know the type of blade steel used, I called Razor Edge Systems
today and was told that it is "stainless steel". When I asked for more specific information, I was told that not even Razor Edge Systems knows what specific sort of blade steel is used.

Does anyone know anything more about this knife? My encounter today makes me suspicious.

it's $20, and guaranteed, how can you go wrong, if you are TRULY concerned with the details, find a metalurgist

Well... for the description (or lack of...) in their site; and the crapy image; I don't think is a valuable knife anyway...

There are thousands of knives out there; that are more worthy of your money..

In your'e interested in kits... try this:

Really good kits for making your own knife; and quality it superb... I have the balisong kit... boy its incredible !.

Good luck !

Not trying to bash Razor Edge but any company who claims not to know what thier products are made of are probably selling POS's. A lifetime guarantee does not mean much if they are selling a $2 knife for $20.

Unknown maker.... Unknown steel.... No thanks - If I was looking for a low end all-stainless knife I would check out the Spyderco Byrd line or maybe a Buck Nobleman. (440A steel, 16.95 @ knifeworks.com - picture below)
