Has anyone used these sharpening stones? I have read the book and it sounds like their hones might be worth trying, but I would like to know if anyone out there has any thoughts on them? Here is a link to there sight.

Look under hones at the top. Thanks.

I've got a pair of the 6" hones that came with my RazorEdge guide that I bought 10 or more years ago. The coarse stone is very agressive, and the fine stone seems to be a pretty darned good compromise between being coarse enough to grind out the marks left by the coarse stone and fine enough to make a polished edge if you work it long enough. I've always used them dry and scrubbed them with a stiff nylon brush and warm water after each use. They're still in good shape.

I agree 110% with Medoctor. The coarse hone is very coarse and will make a quick job of thinning out edges, setting edge bevels, etc. And the fine hone I also found to put on a satiny finish on the edge which cuts smoothly, yet has tooth. Both are well worth it just as stones alone. I too only used them dry, and would rinse them under the sink after use and scrub with one of those fingernail/toenail brushes. Leave it on a cooling rack or papertowel overnight, and put 'em away in the morning.

In full agreement. I have had mine for about 10 years also. One side of the coarse stone has started to dish a little but still cuts well for rough jobs. All the other sides are still "flat". I have a bench full of stones arkansas' etc but have found the Razor Edge the best. Highly recommend.

I also have the Razor Edge System, and like it very much. I use them dry and blow them off with an air compressor when done. I would recommend it.
