Does anyone know of any ladies that use a safety razor? If so what is a good one? I imagine a long handle would be better for shaving legs.

my wife uses a gillette adjustable, (slim I think? maybe superspeed?) anywho, I ended up with a whole whack of blades i didn't like, so she uses them, and can toss them frequently. She doesn't care much, more likes it for the antique aspect, and doesn't like the cost of the cartridges.

One of the best/most loved safety razors for women (and some men use them too due to the long handle) is the Lady Gillette from back in the day. I bought my wife one that is in mint condition with the blue handle and stars. Still has the original plastic case but the case has some slight damage to it. The razor itself is immaculate with a smooth twist to open function.

My wife tried it once and didn't care for it. She is a speed shaver so taking time for angle and little pressure didn't appeal to her. Some of my shaving creams, however, she sneaks out of my stash and uses behind my back.

The lady Gillettes can be found on the secondary market for 40-50 bucks in mint condition and less than that for a user grade model. A similar, current production is the Parker 22R

Parker razors are made off shore somewhere (India?...can't remember) and might serve you or your lady well. That link has some reviews of that particular model.

Those two (Parker and Lady Gillette) are not adjustable. They have the twist to open, butterfly door design and are easy to change blades. If you are looking for an adjustable with a long handle, a vintage Gillette Black beauty is what you would want. They can be found on the bay for 50 or less. Look for Gillette Super Adjustable long handle as well.

Hope this helps.

Oh yeah, this is a clone of the Lady Gillette that is also made by Parker

Yep, any of the long handled razors seem to be popular. My wife likes my long handle Super Adjustable (they came in two length handles). I dial it down to #3 and it seems to be just right for her. Fotunately my wife loves the smell of C.O. Bigelow cream which is what I use. I just need to get her her own brush and bowl now! Just make sure your lady resists the dreadful female habit of leaving the razor in the shower, that's no bueno!
