razor knife

need some help folks: i just came across some razors,with broken
handles and some with chipped blades,sure hate to waste these blades,
does anyone have any ideas on how to make some folders or patch knives
out of them. they have a pin hole already.
send those ideas folks. jim

Hi Jim357,

I, too, have afew broken straight razor blades. I use them as scrapers, carving knives, box cutters, etc.... Basically as a catch all sharp edge.

I have seen patch knives built from them that were quite nice, basically an antler tine slipped over the razor's tang, epoxied, and pinned. Mr. Levine, in his book, illustrates a Crooked knife made with a discarded razor.
