I had ask this in a previous discussion. Well, here it is. I made me a new razor blade for my Rolls using S60V steel. I've set the bevel and I'll finish
sharpening it and give myself a shave. DM

I just finished with the shave, a five day beard. While this one was not in my top ten shaves it wasn't far off. It showed potential and this steel sharpens different so, I'll keep trying and see where this takes me. DM

This morning I got a much better shave using this blade. I stropped it more and lathered using a gel. The glycerin soap just doesn't protect my skin as well. Also, the lather runs off. Different strokes for different folks. DM

The way a Rolls Razor works is; after inserting the blade into the slot a twist of the handle caused a shaft to extend up thru the center on into the blade. Thus pushing
it against the top brace and holding it in place. Thanks, DM

A steel that was inconceivable at the time the razor was made.

Thanks guys. Yes, shaving w/ straights is old and the use of powdered steels does bring something modern to the table. Yet, if theres a place the CPM steels could excell its in shaving as their known to take a fine edge. I'll see whether they deliver the goods. The 3rd shave was a good one. I know I'm no expert as I've only been shaving w/ the Rolls for 2+yrs. but really enjoy using them. Heres a 1935 Imperial no2 and a Viscount 1953. DM

I am always impressed with the pure quality of the Rolls Razors. They are a product for the ages.

OOOooooh well that is nifty. guess I need to find this new (to me) style of razor and test it out myself! thanks DM

You can find them on the bay and at Gun & Knife Shows. They're cool to shave with and sharpen. Still, not expensive. Your welcome, DM
